Client: UNFPA

In 2015, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) commissioned IRADA consulting to conduct an FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) Community Mobilizer Training as part of its broader capacity-building initiatives. This training aimed to strengthen the ability of community mobilizers to lead grassroots efforts to eliminate FGM, an entrenched harmful practice that violates Somaliland women’s and girls’ rights, health, and dignity. The purpose of the training was to enhance advocacy skills, raise awareness, promote sustainable change to wider society. This training initiative not only addressed the immediate need to combat FGM but also contributed to broader efforts aimed at promoting gender equality, safeguarding human rights, and improving reproductive health outcomes.
